How to make Ring Fit Adventure even more challenging
As soon as we started working from home, especially when the gyms had to close, we noticed our bodies getting a bit lazy. Thankfully there is lots to do at home: push ups, pilates, just going up the stairs 20 times a day: there are exercise options for everyone. We are gamers though, so we need a bit of a gameplay element, right? Ring Fit is the answer. This Switch-game comes with a big round peripheral to work your muscles. This is how to make Ring Fit even more challenging.
Some exercises in Ring Fit are a bit too crazy to stream, but many of them are a blast for having fun with online friends. On any day of the week and any moment in the day you can find people playing Ring Fit on Twitch. It is very entertaining, as you will get to see more of the room of the player, but better yet: you see him or her working up a sweat.
Though Ring Fit Adventure will already throw a crazy amount of fun and creative exercises their way, there is always room for an extra challenge, right?
We have thought long and hard while sitting on the couch not moving at all, just so we could come up with things that would make a game of Ring Fit a lot harder.
1. Wear weights
We love Ring Fit as it gets us moving, but it could do a bit more with our muscles. You can though: in many sports stores there are weights you can attach to your arms and/or legs. Be careful though, even half a kilo is a challenge in Ring Fit, as you often have to keep your arms straight and up, which can be pretty intense. Try it: just hold your arm up for 10 minutes: it’s pretty difficult, especially when moving your arm around too.
Stand on one leg
Figure out which leg does not have a Joy-con attached to it and put it in the air. You may no longer put that foot down, so you will have to stand on one leg the whole time. With some exercises, it might require a little cheating, but that’s okay. As long as you do everything on only one leg, as much as you can, we have something fun to look at and you will see that the game is a lot more challenging this way.
Sing the whole time
Getting out of breath is part of sports, but what if you get out of breath even sooner because you are singing? In this challenge you will have to sing during the whole exercise. Especially looking at how good people start and how bad they are at the end of the sweat session, can be so funny. Plus: you will see your own progress: if you pick the same song everytime, you will see you can sing it better and better, the more you exercise. It’s a win-win situation!
